Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

Remembero is a reminders, habits, and collaborative Spaces app for Android. Your privacy matters — this policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Who we are

Remembero is developed and maintained by an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at rememberoapp@proton.me.

Data we collect and why

We only collect data that's needed to make the app work. Here's a breakdown by feature:

Account & profile

What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google Sign-In. We also generate a unique user ID (Firebase UID) for your account.
Name Email Profile photo User ID

Reminders & habits

What we collect
Reminders, habits, streaks, daily plans, and any images you attach are stored in Firebase Firestore so they persist across sessions and can be shared through Spaces.
Reminders Habits & streaks Attached photos

Collaborative Spaces

What we collect
When you create or join a Space, your profile information (name, photo, handle) and any shared reminders, habits, or activity events are visible to other members of that Space. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore.
Shared reminders Shared habits Space activity Member profiles

Location — Radar / Locate

What we collect
If you enable the Locate feature in a Space, your precise location is shared with other Space members via Firebase Firestore. Location is only collected when another member requests it — there is no continuous background tracking. You can go incognito at any time to stop sharing your location in a specific Space.
Precise location Opt-in only Incognito available

Health & fitness — steps and sleep

What we collect
If you create a step count or sleep habit, Remembero reads data from Health Connect on your device. This data is processed locally to check whether you've met your daily goal — we do not store raw health data on our servers. Only habit completion status (done/not done) and streak progress are saved.
Step count Sleep data Processed on-device

Screen time

What we collect
If you create a screen time habit, Remembero reads app usage data on your device to track your daily screen time goal. Like health data, this is processed locally — only habit completion status is stored on our servers.
App usage stats Processed on-device

Fasting tracker

What we collect
If you use the fasting tracker, your fasting windows, completion history, and weekly stats are stored in Firebase Firestore so they persist across sessions. No health data beyond what you explicitly log is collected.
Fasting windows Completion history Weekly stats

Voice reminders

What we collect
When you use voice to create a reminder, speech-to-text runs entirely on your device using an offline recognition engine (Vosk). No audio is recorded or stored.

PRO users: After on-device speech-to-text, the resulting text transcript may be sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service for natural-language parsing (extracting dates, times, and reminder details). Only the text transcript is transmitted — never raw audio. Anthropic processes data under their privacy policy and does not use it for model training.
On-device STT No audio stored Cloud parsing (PRO)

Push notifications

What we collect
We store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token and a device instance ID in Firestore so we can deliver reminder notifications and Space activity alerts to your device.
FCM token Device ID

Purchases

What we collect
Remembero Pro purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). We only store your entitlement status (free or Pro) and usage quotas locally and in Firestore.
Entitlement tier No payment data

How we share data

Permissions

Remembero requests Android permissions only when needed for a specific feature. All sensitive permissions (location, microphone, Health Connect, notifications, activity recognition, usage stats) are requested at runtime when you first use the relevant feature — never upfront.

Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Firebase services provide encryption at rest for stored data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information.

Data retention & deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

No data is retained or archived after account deletion.

Children's privacy

Remembero is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where the GDPR or similar regulations set a higher age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we learn that we've collected data from a child below the applicable age threshold, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
